Shop At HomeGoods?

by Teal Davison

Wendy and I ended up at HomeGoods since you all wanted us to see what we could find for you there. I’ll admit—I did not go in expecting to have a good time. But you know what? We found some gold.

HomeGoods is kinda like thrifting in a strip mall. If you don’t go in with a plan, the sales tags, the baskets of scented orbs, and oversized Pac-Man WILL get you. You’ll walk out with a cart full of things that don’t match your house, your life, or your taste.

So here’s what I’ve learned after too many impulse buys and not enough counter space:

How to not lose your damn mind at HomeGoods:

  • Go in with a hit list. Don’t just “see what they have.” That’s how the chaos wins.

  • Ask yourself: Where will this go? How will I use it? And if the answer is “I dunno” or “maybe someday,” just walk away.

  • Know your materials. That soft “cotton” towel is probably 100% polyester. If it just moves water around your body without absorbing it, it’s a HARD NO.

My Favorite Find: The Marble Tray That Saved My Spices
I got lucky with a marble tray. I didn’t plan to buy it, but I stopped for one second to think: “Will this help me with my current rage toward my under-counter spice pullout?” And the answer was yes.

It now lives on my countertop and holds all my go-to spices and oils. I don’t have to bend over, dig around, or curse at the oregano anymore. The pullout still sucks, but at least now I’m not digging through it just to end up making bland chicken and resenting my life choices. Plus, it’s REAL marble so it looks way more expensive than it was.

Cooking at the end of the day is hard. Shout out to all of you making it work after a full day of everything. Sometimes I fantasize about weekly meal delivery. Maybe someday. Until then, I’m trying to keep it functional so I can feed my tiny human and not lose my will to live.

I'll post a pic of the tray in action soon—because yes, it's working that well.

Dish Towels: Danger Zone
Be careful here. Don’t get sucked into the “inspirational towel” section unless you’re actively trying to give yourself the ick. But a fresh, plain cotton pack? Worth it. Toss the old ones—if they’re grimy or stiff, it’s time.

Wendy scored with some actual cotton guest towels. Reminder: polyester towels don’t dry your body, they just glide water around until you give up and air dry like a sponge.

So—can you shop HomeGoods and win? Yeah. But only if you do it with intention.
Otherwise, you’ll get distracted by Pac-Man and end up with five throw pillows and nowhere to sit.

Your Skin? Go For Dewy, Not Dusty

by Teal Davison

Don’t let summer sneak up on you and send you to the beach lookin’ like an alligator. NOPE. We’re not doing that.

Here’s the deal: great skin isn’t just about what you use—it’s about building a routine that works for you. I used to love a clean, clear bathroom counter. Nothing out. Looked like a spa. But then... the smoker lines hit. The dry, scaley hands. The “I think I’m aging backwards but also sideways” moments.

So now? My oils live out in the open. My nighttime stuff is ON the bedside table, not tucked in a drawer. I’m letting go of showroom-ready and embracing the dew.

Yep—bring on the glazed donut face, bitches. Here’s what I’m using and LOVING right now (and yes, it all lives in our wellness ShopMy page):

skincare routine, 50 but look 30, blush, Ursa Major, one love vitamin c, vitamin c, serum, face serum, glazed donut face, nighttime routine, skincare routine, face oilskincare routine, 50 but look 30, blush, Ursa Major, one love vitamin c, vitamin c, serum, face serum, glazed donut face, nighttime routine, skincare routine, face oilskincare routine, 50 but look 30, blush, Ursa Major, one love vitamin c, vitamin c, serum, face serum, glazed donut face, nighttime routine, skincare routine, face oil
Skincare products we can't live without!s

✨ One Love Organics Vitamin C Body Oil
New discovery. Major results. They say Vitamin C is gold for skin, and I believe it now.
I rub this into my arms and legs before bed, then pat the leftovers gently onto my face (not too much—I’m not trying to clog anything).

🧴 Wonder Balm
This balm is the real MVP. I use it on lips, neck, chest—wherever I’m trying to keep Grandma Mildred from moving in. Multipurpose magic. Smells clean, feels incredible.

💇‍♀️ Davines Conditioner
Short hair + workouts = sweaty salt crust.
So here’s my move: I slather this conditioner in before my early AM workouts. It doubles as a hair mask. When I get home and shower—boom. Soft, shiny, handled. Plus it smells amazing.

💋 Olieo Osso Lip + Cheek Balm
Keep this in your purse. I use it as a lip tint and cheek color when I need to not look like I’ve been up since 5am (even when I have). Swipe, done, cute.

Vancouver Views kicks off this June!

What started as a simple wallpaper consult turned into a full-blown redesign—ceilings, lighting, cabinetry, and more. We're breaking it all down in a new YouTube series and Substack deep dive.

In the next few months, you'll see how we transformed a 90s traditional home into something warmer, lighter, and deeply personal—without ditching the client's mid-century pieces or blowing the budget.

  • Our approach to cabinetry that blends traditional and modern

  • Paint rules (and rule-breaking) that brighten everything

  • What to update now vs. what to live with for a bit

You’ll walk away with ideas, tips, and a few good laughs too. Let’s goooo!
